The opening sonority which is arpeggiated by the piano and which serves as a harmonic basis of this work is pulled from the closing section of my two–piano work entitled Games. Free, fantasia–like passages alternate with more energetic, pointillistic sections marked with a driving pulse and syncopated accents. The piece was written for composer and pianist Joseph Dangerfield, flutist Lisa Bost, and saxophonist Scott Sandberg.
